CSET Summer School

You’ll need the right skills as well as the right qualifications if you’re planning a professional career in law. The City Solicitors’ Educational Trust (CSET) Summer School can help you build those skills. It’s an all-expenses paid one-week residential school for first-year law students and second-year non-law students.

The CSET Summer School is a unique initiative designed to identify and encourage university students from a diverse range of backgrounds to
consider a professional legal career.

It’s an intensive one-week residential school to be held at Imperial College
London. Students will attend group and structured individual sessions to
learn about legal careers and meet professionals from City law firms.

Following the success of the event there will be 200 places available in 2010
with the one-week summer schools taking place on:
• Monday 12 July – Saturday 17 July 2010
• Monday 19 July – Saturday 24 July 2010.

You’ll have the chance to:
• take part in skills sessions on practical law, commercial awareness, teamwork and how to succeed at application and interview
• work with solicitors from top law firms
• work on hands-on case studies and debating exercises
• be inspired by representatives from alternative training contract providers and the self-employed bar

There are 200 all-expenses paid places available with 100 students attending each week.

The City Solicitors’ Educational Trust (CSET) is a charitable trust set up under the auspices of the City of London Solicitors’ Company.
